Services We Provide
Preventative Maintenance & Monitoring Services
The following items are included in our installation packages. Please be aware that we only install products purchased directly from Landry Home Energy Solutions. If you have purchased your product online or from another provider, we will not be able to assist with the installation. However, we are available to service the product if needed.
Change oil and oil filters (once yearly): Regular oil and filter changes maintain optimal engine performance by reducing wear and tear, ensuring smooth operation, and extending the generator’s lifespan.
Perform valve adjustment on engine: Adjusting the engine valves ensures proper air-fuel mixture and combustion, improving efficiency and preventing potential engine damage.
Check for fuel leaks with a gas leak detector: Using a gas leak detector to inspect for leaks helps ensure safety by preventing potential hazards such as fires or explosions.
Check all engine fluid levels and top off: Verifying and topping off fluids like coolant and engine oil ensures proper engine cooling, lubrication, and overall performance.
Check fuel solenoid valve operation (gas units only): Ensuring the fuel solenoid valve operates correctly prevents fuel delivery issues and ensures the generator starts and runs smoothly.
Check all hoses for wear and tighten: Inspecting hoses for wear or leaks and tightening connections helps prevent fluid leaks and ensures the proper flow of liquids throughout the system.
Check all belts for wear and tension: Ensuring belts are in good condition and properly tensioned prevents slippage, overheating, and possible damage to engine components.
Check exhaust system. Tighten hangers: Inspecting and securing the exhaust system prevents leaks and ensures safe venting of exhaust gases.
Check starter. Bring up to operating speed: Verifying that the starter motor is functioning correctly ensures reliable starting and operation at optimal speed.
Check engine, alternator, and control panel: Regular checks of the engine, alternator, and control panel ensure efficient power generation and allow for early detection of potential issues.
Check for unusual noise or vibration: Identifying and addressing unusual noises or vibrations prevents mechanical issues and maintains smooth operation.
Check operating pressure and temperatures: Monitoring pressure and temperature readings ensures that the generator operates within safe limits and avoids overheating or excessive pressure.
Check gauges, shut down, and warning lights: Verifying that all gauges, shutdown systems, and warning lights function properly helps monitor performance and ensures timely issue detection.
Check all electrical connections and controls: Ensuring that electrical connections are secure and controls are functioning prevents electrical malfunctions and promotes reliable operation.
Check AC voltage and amperage: Measuring AC voltage and amperage helps confirm that the generator is providing the correct power output and is functioning within its specified limits.
Check DC alternator amperage: Checking DC alternator output ensures proper battery charging and electrical system operation.
Check transfer switch operation: Testing the transfer switch ensures that the generator can automatically switch to backup power during outages without manual intervention.
Check time delay and retransfer cool down: Verifying proper time delay and cool-down operations helps prevent system damage during power transitions.
Perform minor repair/adjustments: Addressing any minor issues or adjustments during routine maintenance helps prevent larger, costlier problems.
Check battery and charger, tighten and clean terminals, and load test battery: Ensuring the battery is fully charged, terminals are clean and secure, and load testing it helps maintain readiness for generator operation during emergencies.

Repair Request?
Landry is Ready to Assist
Repairs, parts and warranty work are not covered by a Preventive Maintenance Contract and are considered “service”.
A $250.00 diagnostic fee will apply for any service call or maintenance visit not covered under the manufacturer’s warranty that is scheduled and/or performed for a generator.
If repairs are needed following a generator’s diagnosis, an additional labor charge of $150.00 per hour will apply to perform the necessary scope of work plus an additional fee(s) for any part(s) needed.
All trips from Landry’s Home Energy Service other than what is specified in this contract, will incur an additional fee(s) unless covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.
